Now
Back to the future. Hopefully, we'll still be here.
Remember that kid who was fascinated by the future?
He's still around. Just with a different set of questions.
I'm interested in what happens when digital technology meets the physical world: connected products, intelligent environments, the Internet of Things, and experiences shaped by the relationship between people, objects and the spaces around them.
I'm especially interested in what it means to design these experiences for African contexts — not simply to import ideas and hope they fit, but to build around the people, cultures and realities already here.
Although, considering how quickly AI is advancing, I do hope we're still around to see how all of this turns out.
I still say please and thank you to AI. Not because it needs manners, but because I'd like to be remembered as one of the good ones when the machines take over.
Jokes aside, I'm still fascinated by the future. The difference is that I don't just want to imagine what it might look like anymore. I want to help design it.
